A Pop of Ruby in Any Room
There is beauty all around us and sometimes we just need to look to the ground to find inspiration. Many of the pillows here were inspired from the interwoven artistry of rug makers in the far and middle east. In Ruby Saf, a beautiful bouquet of hibiscus, carnations and wildflowers come alive on a backdrop of saturated vermillion. The original rug was made between 1600-1650 in India and exemplifies the skill and craft of rug makers. While graphical applications were used to enhance the hues, the original rug has retained much of its brilliance in colour. You can see the original rug and textile masterpieces at the Museum of Islamic Art in Qatar.
Travel Sized Art Pillows
The above kidney pillow was inspired by a still life painting from Theude Gronland, a Danish painter who excelled in realism and capturing the beauty of florals in his works.
This pillow along with a number of other fine art inspired pillows will be launched at the NYNOW show in August of 2018. Measuring 10"X16", these travel sized jewels of art are not to be missed and bring a pop of colour in your travels.
Inspirations of Persian Rug Makers
In Polonaise and Varamin pillows, we again found beauty in the geometry and colour of antique rugs. The original inspirations are Persian rugs originally from Iran and show a study in the intricacies of weaving in wefting and warping silks and other fabrics in creating works of art.
Complimenting the mesmerizing patterns of Persian inspired art pillows are fine art works from Monet and Van Gogh. In Van Gogh's Turquoise Almond Blossom pillow, we have cooled the sky in a baby blue to highlight the glowing blossoms of almond trees in the summer. Monet captures the elegance and dream-like quality of lilies in the pond.
Poetic Pillow is a platform for creating meaningful space.
A room, a home, an office, a garden, any space that we inhabit can be made special by pillows. Decorative throws, pillow covers, and cushions, in all its possibilities can transform a space from ordinary to meaningful.
