 On a foggy day, the founder of French Impressionist painting, Claude Monet sat at the banks of pond in Giverny and captured the beauty of water lilies in a misty pond. At the time, his affliction with glaucoma was affecting his vision, and ultimately his depictions of subjects in his paintings.

Born in Geneva, Switzerland on April 24, 1767, Agasse was known for his meticulous works on animal and landscape painting. Agasse studied in the public art school in Geneva.
