Last week we completed our exhibit at the NYNOW show at the Jacob Javits Convention Center. It was so good to see familiar faces and reconnect with friends. And it was also nice to showcase our wares and meet new friends. With a last minute cancellation from our neighbor, we were able to expand our booth into a 5' X 20' space, which made the booth far wider than before. At the show we were able to share a few new pillows that really capture the imagination. Over the last few months we were enamored with the artistry of embroidery. Collections from the LACMA and George Washington University house works found from the Qing dynasty in China. Our reinterpretations and adaptations into a digital format and ultimately into a fabric and pillow were well received. Two examples below show whimsical motifs of creatures, sometimes real and sometimes mythical in these extraordinary creations in textiles. A pair of floral pillows that were well complimented were inspired from Flemish painter Jan Frans van Dael. In cranberry and fuschia tulips came alive on a warm chocolaty backdrop.
