These pillows are uniquely hand made one at a time using natural indigo dyes in a century old technique called Itajime Shibori. The process is a shaped-resist technique. Traditionally, the cloth is sandwiched between two pieces of wood, which are held in place with string. The shapes prevent the dye from penetrating the fabric they cover. Each pillow is made with soft laundered cotton. Covers have an invisible zipper at the bottom and contain a down and feather insert for cushion.
This exclusive collection of pillows supports indigenous artisans in fair trade cooperatives in Indonesia from our partners at The Language of Cloth.
