Discoveries at Suites at Market Square Spring 2019
On April 6-10th we exhibited at the Suites at Market Square for the spring High Point Market. It was wonderful to see fellow vendors and buyers from across the country. We remained at our location at the top floor of the Suites at Market Square at T802. At every show, it's an opportunity to connect with the community. We so appreciate your feedback and your generous insights into how we can be better as a company and ways where we can innovate. Here is a recap from this market.
Trend Watch Spring 2019
We were so honored to receive news that one of our pillows was chosen to be a part of Trend Watch Spring 2019. This season there were specific themes that spoke to designers: maximalism, ore and charge. These ideas and visual motifs spoke to convey the feelings and motivations across generations. Our pink oushak rug inspired pillow made it into this maximalist room located at the IHFC lobby. Thank you to Sandra Talley and the Trend Watch team.
New Luxurious Throws
This season, we are launching a new line of throws. More photos will come, but these four were inspired from William Morris patterns, Qing dynasty blue and white porcelain silhouette and embroidery work from the far east. Each throw is printed on the front and back. The front is a silky poly fabric and that is smooth, cool and soft to the touch. The fabric chosen is reflective of the high resolution of digital printing to accentuate the colours, lines and patterns in each work. The lining is also printed in a brushed chenille velvet that is supremely soft to the touch. Edges are finished with pompoms, which were quite controversial. We are still taking surveys. While some loved the pompoms, some felt they were a bit too frilly. Each piece is made one at a time in Oakland, California from imported fabrics. Please stay tuned for more designs and photos. If you saw these at market, please DM us; we would love to hear what you thought about these new throws.
The Poetry of Sleep
As we entered into the 2019 season, we thought long and hard about our designs, and how we could evolve. Good sleep is crucial for all to start a new day and make the most of each day. It's a time for recharge and a time to dream. We started a line called Dream Catcher, The Poetry of Sleep because there were so many beautiful prints, and motifs that spoke to how we can create special spaces in the bedroom. We began with a few pillow cases, shams and throws that were delicately designed and inspired from old botanical illustrations on a white clean backdrop. In the above example, we have a collection of white vine renderings from the Coromandel region paired with our Pimpernel Morris euro to celebrate the shades of sage green. We've designed these beautiful shams in Standard and King sizes printed on the front and back and there were several vocalizations about where the matching duvets were. We also launched a jewel collection of eye pillows. These were sold out, and many were demanding cash and carry. We will be creating new designs and offering more eye pillows. Exciting things are about to come.
Bold is Beautiful
The adjacent wall to our Dream Catcher Poetry of Sleep was a collection of bright and vibrant prints that spoke to the season and the times to come. Some celebrated history while others roared with maximalism. Every pillow has a story. Take time to look through and find pieces that help tell your story.
