Yun Shouping (恽寿平), also known as Nantian (南田) (1633 – 1690) was a celebrated artist during the Qing Dynasty. At the early age of eight he was composing poetry on lotus blossoms. Finding inspiration in nature, he portrayed the elegance and beauty of flowers and landscapes in scrolls. In each work, note the careful selection of florals in the context of plantation and the elements of wind. His daring use of colors was innovative in the time of Qing Dynasty imperial rule.
